太古里西区是北京三里屯商圈城市更新的重要组成，前身是服装批发市场—雅秀大厦。它作为太古里南、北区的重要补充，发挥着辐射和吸聚效应，既增强了片区的商业氛围与连接性，同时也为旧有城市肌理带来了全新的活力，与现有南、北区形成互补，以独特性格实现了城市存量空间的蝶变。

形成建筑对话，延续三里屯街景

FORMING AN ARCHITECTURAL DIALOGUE AND CONTINUING THE SANLITUN STREETSPACE

太古里西区不仅着眼于项目范围的业态更新，更致力于形成三里屯区域内的建筑对话，促进整个商圈的价值提升：一方面，通过主力店调整，优化商圈的业态布局；另一方面，构造交通和视觉上的联系，使西区、南区形成对话与连接，激活新的商业空间。太古里西区不仅成为三里屯街景的延续，也兼具明显的辨识度，成为了三里屯商圈的新地标。

重现退台造型，植入时尚基因

REPRODUCE THE TERRACE-BACKWARDS STYLING AND IMPLANT THE FASHION ELEMENT

为了削弱原建筑的压迫感，设计以“大道至简”的手法重现其逐级退台的建筑原貌，以互相错动、富有变化的立方体，为建筑外形植入时尚的基因。建筑外形的灵感源于自然界晶体的生长，立方体经过巧妙设计，与其他元素相互平衡，构成优雅的建筑立面。建筑外立面主要采用铝板、U 型玻璃以及透明玻璃，与太古里南区的设计语言保持一致。不同材料的通透感、色彩的差异，使每个立方体面形态各异，形成一种独特的节奏与韵律。

In order to weaken the oppressive feeling of the original building, the design reproduces the original appearance of the architecture with a terrace backwards platform in a way of “Great Truths Are All Simple”, also implants a fashionable element into the building's shape with interlocking and changing cubes. The shape of architecture is inspired by the growth of crystals in nature, and the cube is cleverly designed to balance with other elements to form an elegant building facade. The building's facade is mainly made of aluminum panels, U-shaped glass and transparent glass, in keeping with the design language of Taikoo Li South. The permeability of the different materials and the difference in color create a unique rhythm and rhyme in the form of each cube face.

另一方面西区的设计在延续三里屯品牌精神的同时，采用一种不同于南区的设计风格。相较于南区的鲜艳色彩和现代元素，整个西区的设计更加低调和内敛，全白色调的外观更加简洁、干净。体块组合出的建筑体量变化，从半透明U玻到全实铝板的材料变化，共同凸显建筑的形态和美感，并且结合构造设计，形成层次感，在南区时尚、活力的氛围基础上，创造出一种更为独特的时尚感和商业氛围。

On the other hand, the West Zone continues the spirit of the Sanlitun brand while adopting a different design style from the South Zone. Compared with the bright colors and modern elements of the South Zone, the entire West Zone kept low profile and restrained, with a more simple and clean appearance in all-white tones. The change of architecture volume from translucent U-glass to full solid aluminum panels, together with the combination of structural design to form a sense of hierarchy, creates a more unique sense of fashion and business atmosphere based on the fashionable and energetic atmosphere of the South Zone.

疏通室内流线，引入自然体验

DE-CLUTTERING THE INTERIOR FLOW AND BRINGING IN NATURAL EXPERIENCES

相较于外立面改造中拆解的设计手法，内部则以空间的整合为主，创造出自由流动的空间。最重要的改造是在东侧增加了一个玻璃中庭，它面朝南区，既建立了两区更直接的交通联系，又形成双向的开放视野，从建筑内可向外看到太古里南区的景观。暖色调的木纹铝板、混凝土、石材等材料，结合中庭天光与层间绿植，将自然氛围引入室内。它贴合了年轻、时尚、充满艺术的商业氛围，创造出高质量休闲、娱乐体验空间。

In contrast to the dismantling design approach in the exterior facade renovation, the interior is dominated by the integration of space, creating a free flowing space. The most important renovation is the addition of a glass atrium on the east side, which faces the southern district, creating both a more direct connection between the two districts and a two-way open view of Taikoo Li's southern district from inside the building. The warm color of wood-grained aluminum panels, concrete and stone, combined with the atrium sky light and greenery between floors, bring the natural atmosphere inside. Also it fits the young, fashionable and art-filled commercial atmosphere, creating a space for high-quality leisure and entertainment experiences.

焕新的太古里西区象征着三里屯商圈不断演进的历程。我们试着把盒子打开，去形成一种与人交互、与城市交互的商业空间。存量时代的旧建筑转变为新商业载体的过程，不仅关乎建筑的空间形态，更关乎建筑与人、与城市的边界和联系。商业空间的功能需要返回社交生活、人文生活，而不仅是消费。商业空间需要在与人和城市的互动中，体现它的城市价值。

The revitalized Taikoo Li West symbolizes the continuous evolution of the Sanlitun shopping district. We try to open the box volumn to form a commercial space that interacts with people and city. The process of transforming old architectures into new commercial carriers is not only about the spatial form of the building, but also about the boundaries and connections between the architecture, people and the city. The function of commercial space needs to return to social life and humanistic life, not just consumption. Commercial space needs to reflect its urban value in the interaction with people and the city.
